Do you have anything for my children on Sundays?Yes! Each Sunday morning we have a full compliment of exciting programming for your youngsters. Our Sunday morning expression provides a wonderful and loving learning environment from the craddle to 5th grade.
Where does my teenager go/do on Sunday mornings?
Like our kids' programming, our student ministry (FUEL) provides engaging opportunities that are age-graded every Sunday morning. Housed in our brand new "FUEL Room," our student ministry welcomes 6th-12th grade students into a challenging and welcoming environment designed to help them encounter God!
So I have heard a lot about "First Baptist" churches, what makes this one different?
That's hard to answer because each church and person's experience is different, but we can try to describe who we are like this... We aren't perfect, and on our best days we hope we are loving people the way Christ does - unconditionally. Certainly, like any group of people, we have our moments but we go with the grace of God and prayerfully consider how we too can dispence grace. FBC has been described as generous and accepting. You will find a down-to-earth group of loving people that want to invite you on their journey to become more like Christ.
What are your worship services like?
Our pastor wears a tie when it's not hot! You can do the math, but that only leaves a few months a year you will see him in one. The rest of us? Well, you see everything! As far as music and preaching, we celebrate God using a mix of modern songs from current artists as well as contemporary takes on old favorites. Pastor Rick is a pastor that will speak to you and not at you. Your family will notice very quickly that our times together are purposed, but genuine. We hope you choose to join us on a Sunday morning very soon!
What happens on Wednesday nights for my family?
For starters (fall/spring), we offer an affordable family meal in our Fellowship Hall. Starting around 6:30pm, everyone in the family can participate in offerings designed for all sorts of people and situations. We offer AWANAS up to the third grade, and other programming for our 4th - 5th graders. Our student ministry has a blast on these nights while encountering God through group entertainment, worship and teaching. Adults are also cared for through classes that range from marital helps to DVD-driven Bible studies.
